Routine surgery is being performed in an underground aid station medical bunker.  The Captain on the left assists the doctor in this relatively simple surgery, but the station could handle a wide range of medical cases from everyday complaints to treatment of severely wounded personnel transported directly from the battlefield.  An aid station such as this was critical in providing initial medical treatment that would stabilise patients for subsequent medivac to major hospitals.
