Christmas Day 1965 in a remote village in the Xuan Loc area meant a cherished surprise of candy for the village children.  Children in the village lived a very basic existence and would rarely get the opportunity to celebrate a foreign holiday like Christmas with a sweet treat. While the concept of Christmas may have been unfamiliar to the population of small Vietnam villages, they would look forward to these simple celebrations that would often bring more than just candy.  US Advisory Teams would provide medical care along with donated clothing and other basic supplies.
