I was just remembering back to the CNN coverage of the initial phase of the first Gulf War - Desert Storm. It was just amazing to see the first example of worldwide live coverage of modern conflict. I think I stayed up all night watching the coverage from the CNN news team stuck in that hotel room. Listening to Bernard Shaw, Peter Arrnet and the rest of that crew speaking live from the Al-Rashid Hotel was gripping journalism.

It seems a shame that the modern news coverage of conflict and everything else for that manner has become so "hollywood" in the way it presents the material now.
