Another outstanding production by Steven Spielberg, Saving Private Ryan relies heavily on the strengths of Tom Hanks to make this film a riveting masterpiece. Saving Private Ryan's plot hinges on a tried and tested formula that pits young soldiers’ ambitions for survival against their duty to save a fellow soldier in what appears to be a one way mission to hell.
